Read Transcript EXPAND

CHRISTIANE, I EXPECT THEY CONTINUE TO WORK AROUND THE REGION AND KEEP TRYING TO ACHIEVE A DIPLOMATIC BREAK THROUGH WITH IRAN.

I AM CLEAR-EYED O HOW DIFFICULT IT WILL BE.

I AM ASKING FOR AND EXPECTING WE'LL GET A CLASSIFIED BRIEFING ON RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN IRAN AND WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE NEGOTIATION TABLE IN VIENNA, IT IS GREATLY.

INCREASING IT TO 60%, TAKING THEM MUCH CLOSER TO WEAPON RATE.

I HOPE AND PRAY IT WILL BE RESOLVED PEACEFULLY AND THAT WE'LL FIND A PATH TOWARDS A LONGER AND STRONGER DEAL THAT IT ADDRESSES BALLISTIC MISSILE PROGRAM AND FOR TERROR ISSUES.

ARE YOU WORRIED OF YOUR MAIN ALLY IN THE REGION USING MILITARY FORCE WHETHER IT IS IN THE GULF OR WHETHER IT IS USING AN OPERATIVE TO GO IN AND BLOWHOLE IN A NUCLEAR PLAN?

ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT THAT AND DID YOU HAVE ANY ADVANCE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT IT?

DID THE UNITED STATES KNOW WHAT ISRAEL WAS GOING TO DO BEFORE IT DID IT?

CHRISTIANE, I HAD NO SENSE OR INFORMATION THERE WAS AN UPCOMING INCIDENT.

THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN CLEARED FOR A LONG TIME.

THE UNITED STATES HAS HELD THAT FOR SOME TIME.

WE'LL TAKE THE ACTIONS WE NEED TO TAKE BUT WE HOPE IT WILL BE DIPLOMATIC ACTION.

THESE RECENT DEVELOPMENT MADE IT MORE DIFFICULT AND LESS CERTAIN.

IT WILL CALL FORECLOSE CONVERSATIONS AND COOPERATIONS WITH OUR VITAL ALLIES.
