Juan Michael Porter II has been living with HIV since 2015. His writing has appeared in TheBody, SF Chronicle, Christian Science Monitor, NY Observer, Time Out NY, TDF Stages, American Theatre Magazine, and Dance Magazine. He is a National Critics Institute and Poynter Power of Diverse Voices fellow as well as the first Black man to serve as a Drama Desk Award nominator.
