On November 7, 2017, American Masters held a preview event for its inaugural web seriesInspiring Woman at Electropositive, a co-working space that focuses on social innovation and impact.

The evening included a panel discussion with three women featured: Tatyana Fazlalizadeh, the visual artist behind the street art campaign “Stop Telling Women to Smile;” Rakia Reynolds, founder and CEO of Skai Blue Media; and Sara Chipps, JavaScript developer and founder of Jewelbots. The panel was moderated by MetroFocus host Jenna Flanagan.

The panelists discussed challenges they had each overcome as entrepreneurs, finding balance with busy schedules, and the sometimes-overlooked aspects of their work that motivates them to excel in their respective fields.

The event ended with a reception, where guests were able to meet the panelists, network with other guests, and contribute submissions to American Masters’ #InspiringWomanPBS online campaign.
