Loretta Lynn’s Gowns

SHARE

Loretta Lynn is known for her long gowns, which her personal designer Tim Cobb makes for her concerts and special events. In this special outtake from Loretta Lynn: Still a Mountain Girl, Cobb shows two popular gowns displayed in her Coal Miner’s Daughter Museum, located on her home and ranch property in Hurricane Mills, TN. One is a golden gown with glass beads that she wore for her 50th anniversary appearance at the Grand Ole Opry in 2010; the other is a light blue gown she wore for the cover of her Van Lear Rose album (2004). Cobb explains that it was Lynn’s mentor Patsy Cline who inspired her to start wearing long gowns.

Tim Cobb is Lynn’s longtime personal assistant, designer and museum curator.
