Faith Harding

Makawao, HI, United States

I cannot pick one category for this remarkable woman – Schar Freeman. She is an artist, an activist and hula practitioner. She has such a force of activism. She has protested against GMO companies on Kauai, online she is active w the #NODAPL being a Native American herself. She has participated in the Pow Wows on Kauai and been a teacher of Native American history. She has been an active member of her hula halau and brought the beauty and teachings of hula to many, many people. She is an artist that is flourishing. Through her artwork she has brought awareness to women, Native Americans, global warming, Hawaii and a myriad of other subjects. I am proud to call her my friend. I learn from her as my mentor. She is endless and she feeds her community with positivist and love. I had to pick one category but she bleeds into all of them. I would like to honor my friend. Mahalo nui loa.
