Born in a family of 10, physically challenged with being born with one arm, I had a sewing teacher Mrs. Sinhuber who taught in Detroit. I was a rebellious teenager who had trouble finding her way. Mrs. Sinhuber taught me that I could learn to sew, and that someday I could teach someone.

Myself confidence would help me to flourish and become a wife, and mother, and a Head Start Teacher. I would use my skills to help and teacher others to sew. I have continued using the skills and self confidence she gave me to become a life-long sewer. I am so thankful to have been blessed with a giving teacher!
