My Mom, she was one of the first girls at her school in a rural Virginia town to take shop class because she wanted to. At first she was told no, this class isnt for girls, why would you want to? She persisted and they finally relented. She endured harassment for it, but my mom has always been someone who marched to the beat of her own drum and didn’t let obstacles hold her back. She’s an incredibly talented carpenter, and helped me install my kitchen cabinets. Thank you Mary Davidson!
