Officer Goree is an ordinary officer. She started a father daughter dance with the police department. The purpose was to bridge the gap with girls and the fathers . If a little girl didn’t have a father, an officer would escort her and show her how a man is supposed to treat you and bridge the negative outlook of the police department. Officer Goree has helped families in the community with food, shelter, clothes and has gone so far as doing this off duty. In our eyesight she has no child left behind. The youth in the community respect her as she has helped several kids get scholarships in college. Parents call her and she helps them with advice and does whatever she can. She recently off duty helped a 107 year old celebrate life because he has been a part of her senior committee since he was a hundred years old and she continues to be there for him. She took him downtown for his celebration of life and drove him downtown to see what downtown looks like after 30 plus years of not seeing downtown. She continues to volunteer unselfishly. On her off days she is visiting schools, empowering youth and educating them on life decisions. She inspires me and other women to want to help. This is a single mom with a son graduated from college and a 12 year old she has making a role of.
