Tenor Andrea Bocelli plays piano and sings “Mi Mancherai” (I’ll Miss You) from the film Il Postino (1994). The lyrics are by Marco Marinangeli, with music by composer Luis Bacalov, Riccardo Del Turco and Paolo Margheri.

Luis Bacalov won the Best Score Award from Italy’s Nastro d’Argento, the equivalent of the Oscars in that country. The film was directed by Michael Radford and starred Massimo Troisi, Philippe Noiret and Maria Grazia. Massimo Troisi (1953 – 1994), the lead actor who played a simple mail man whose life is changed by poetry, died 12 hours after the film shoot wrapped. He had a serious heart condition that stemmed from a childhood illness.
