5 Facts About Violinist Chloe Chua

In the fifth season of Now Hear This, host Scott Yoo follows the journey of what it takes for musicians to go from rising stars to maestros. From today’s rising stars, Yoo takes a look at the career path of Chloe Chua, an award-winning and gifted 17-year-old violinist rising quickly in the classical music world. You may recognize her from one of her many viral performance videos, but here’s more on this accomplished young musician.

 1) Chloe Chua rose to international fame in 2018 when she won the joint-first prize at the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists at 11 years old playing Vivaldi’s “Winter” from “The Four Seasons.”

2) She made her recording debut with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, presenting Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” alongside Locatelli’s Harmonic Labyrinth.

3) Most recently, she recorded an album of the music of Astor Piazzolla with guitarist Kevin Loh.
