GREAT PERFORMANCES mourns the passing of Fyvush Finkel, who rose to fame as a leading star of New York City’s vibrant Yiddish Theater and later transitioned into mainstream roles on Broadway as well as in film and television. In November 1995, Finkel made a memorable guest appearance along with actor Red Buttons in “Itzhak Perlman: In the Fiddler’s House,” joining the legendary violin virtuoso on a visit to Famous Sammy’s Roumanian Style Restaurant on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
