Meet Joan Hershey

Join Joan Hershey as she live tweets New York City Ballet in Paris and New York City Ballet Symphony in C from @GPerfPBS. The two-part special airs on Friday, February 17th and February 24th at 9PM (check local listings). 

Joan Hershey joined the staff of Great Performances as producer in May 2008, and has been the editorial director of NYC-ARTS, Thirteen’s Emmy-winning local arts showcase since its inception in early 2008.  She has an extensive television production background with emphasis on the performing arts as subject matter, and has had the privilege of working with some of the world’s foremost talents in the fields of music and dance, as well as the visual arts. 

Ms. Hershey’s work for Thirteen/WNET and Sony Classical Film & Video has taken her to such locations as Brussels, Prague, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Stuttgart, Tel Aviv, San Francisco, Nashville, Miami and throughout New York City and the tri-state area. Her recent co-producer credits for Great Performances include Paul Taylor Dance Company in Paris, Mark Morris Dance Group: L’Allegro il Penseroso ed il Moderato, as well as the upcoming New York City Ballet in Paris and New York City Ballet Symphony in C which will air nationally on PBS on Friday, February 17th and February 24th respectively.  Ms. Hershey is a graduate of Smith College.
