Great Performances: Sondheim – The Birthday Concert
GREAT PERFORMANCES mourns the passing of Marin Mazzie, one of the great talents in contemporary Broadway musical theater. In addition to her many Broadway roles including Tony Award-nominated performances in “Passion,” “Ragtime” and the 1999 revival of “Kiss Me Kate,” Mazzie was featured on several GREAT PERFORMANCES programs over the years including “My Favorite Broadway: The Leading Ladies” (1999) and “My Favorite Broadway: The Love Songs” (2001) as well as “Creating Ragtime” (1998) and “Sondheim! The Birthday Concert” (2010).
In 2016 our colleagues at Metrofocus had the privilege to speak with her about her illustrious career and her battle with ovarian cancer. It is our honor to remember her talent and spirit.
