Chita Rivera’s Broadway roles led to many guest appearances on television variety shows. Rivera recalls performing with the legendary Maurice Chevalier on his television special in May 1956. At this point in her career, Rivera had already been in original Broadway casts, but her star-making turn as Anita in West Side Story was soon to come in 1957.
