Jonathan Lemalu is Queequeg

SHARE

Jonathan Lemalu discusses his role playing Queequeg, the Pequod’s harpoonist, in “Moby-Dick.” He also describes how each production has researched tattoo patterns for him to wear. A Pacific Islander born in New Zealand, Lemalu felt at ease with the San Francisco Opera designs. The bass baritone thinks of the harpooner’s tattoos as his armor.
