Jazz legend Tony Bennett has been greatly encouraging to Lady Gaga in adding jazz to her already great career in music, whatever naysayers may say about her interest in the genre. “What she is and she doesn’t even realize it — even though she does it that well — is a truly a magnificent jazz artist,” says Bennett. “The business world might tell you, what are you doing? That doesn’t matter.”
Bennett closes this segment of their interview with career advice for the charismatic younger singer: “You should spend the rest of your life just being yourself and it will excite everybody ever time you ever perform, just by being yourself.”
