Dalai Lama Calls on China to Investigate Tibet Self-Immolation Protests

dalai-lama-tibetThere were sharp words exchanged between China and the Dalai Lama as the number of self-immolations by Tibetans grew dramatically. Speaking in Japan, the Dalai Lama called for an investigation into the causes behind the immolations and faulted China for seeing Buddhism as a threat. China, meanwhile, once again accused the Dalai Lama of glorifying the suicides. At least 10 Tibetans inside China set themselves on fire in the last two weeks to protest China’s policy on Tibet.
