National Cathedral to Perform Same-Sex Marriages

nat-cathedral-samesex-weddingsdWashington’s National Cathedral announced this week that it will begin performing same-sex marriages, effective immediately. The Cathedral’s dean, Gary Hall, admitted that gay marriage is a point of disagreement but called the decision an effort to fully include gays and lesbians in the life of the church. Last year, the Episcopal Church approved a blessing for same-sex marriages. It remains up to individual bishops to decide how—and if—the blessing is used in their dioceses.
