Syrian Refugees Reach One Million

syrian-refugees-unThe United Nations Refugee Agency this week warned of a full-scale disaster as the number of people fleeing the violence in Syria surpassed one million. Many more have been internally displaced. Refugees are said to be leaving the country at a rate of 7,000 per day. Most have fled to Lebanon, followed by Jordan and Turkey. Jordan’s King Abdullah II called on the international community to help with the “tremendous burden.”
