In Washington this week, religious groups were among those who rallied at the Supreme Court, as oral arguments were heard for and against California’s Proposition Eight, which would have banned gay marriage there, and the Federal Defense of Marriage Act, DOMA, which recognizes marriage only between a man and a woman.
