Family members of Kenneth Bae, an American Christian missionary who has been jailed in North Korea for almost a year-and-a-half, renewed calls for his freedom. Bae was arrested in November 2012 after leading a tour group into North Korea. The North Korean government has accused him of plotting to bring down the state, but his family claims he’s innocent. Bae has been transferred to a hard labor camp, and this week, North Korea withdrew an invitation to a U.S. envoy to discuss his release.
