LA Archdiocese Settles Sex Abuse Claims for $13 Million

abusevictims320The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles agreed to pay $13 million to settle 17 clergy sex abuse lawsuits. The settlement brings an end to all pending clergy abuse lawsuits against the nation’s largest archdiocese. A wave of litigation began there in 2002, when hundreds of victims came forward claiming they had been abused by priests. Since then the Archdiocese has paid the victims more than $740 million dollars.
