Deportation Protest at White House Ends in Arrests

leaders-protest320Faith leaders joined with undocumented immigrants outside the White House this week (February 17) to call for an end to deportations. The Obama administration is approaching a record two million deportations of immigrants, the most of any administration in history. The demonstrators held what they called a “pray-in” and urged President Obama to sign an executive order suspending deportations. Two United Methodist bishops were among those arrested for engaging in civil disobedience.
