Catholic Nun Sentenced to Three Years in Prison for Anti-Nuclear Peace Protest

Megan-Rice320Three Catholic anti-war activists were sentenced to prison terms for breaking into a Tennessee nuclear weapons facility and defacing it. Among them was Sister Megan Rice, an 84-year-old nun. At her sentencing she asked the judge for no leniency, saying “to remain in prison for the rest of my life would be the greatest honor you could give me.” Rice was sentenced to between 18 and 35 months in federal prison.
