I regret that I can't be with you in person, but I want you to know how much this award means to all of us at Religion & Ethics Newsweekly, including cameraman Greg Barna and soundman Chris Callus. The award honors not just this story but the work of an outstanding producer, Phil O'Connor, who died last fall. It was Phil's vision that brought Dorothy Day's remarkable life to life again in our story. Remarkable, when you think about it, that a story about a journalist, social activist and devout Catholic who died more than 30 years ago still resonates today.
