In Sudan’s Nuba Mountains, the Catholic Mother of Mercy Hospital was bombed by the Sudanese air force. The attack was caught on video by Nuba Reports, a local network of journalists. The bombing also disrupted a worship service. There were injuries but no reported deaths. Mother of Mercy is the only working hospital in the region. Prominent retired Catholic Bishop, Max Gassis, called the attack a crime against humanity. Sudan’s Islamist government has been fighting rebels in the predominantly Christian and animist area.
