Mormon Feminist Excommunicated

LDS-Kate-Kelly-HEAD-smA prominent Mormon activist urging the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to open the priesthood to women has been excommunicated on charges of apostasy. Kate Kelly founded the group Ordain Women in 2013. This week she was informed of her excommunication by email. The email said she could be considered for readmission if she ceases her activism. Kelly said the church’s decision was painful, but she stands by her actions.
