This week President Obama announced that he was tapping Rabbi David Saperstein to be the next U.S. ambassador for religious freedom. The 66-year-old Saperstein is an influential rabbi who has led the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism for four decades. He would be the first non-Christian to hold the position.
