As the Supreme Court prepares to hear a key gay marriage case in April, a group of conservative evangelicals, among them the Family Research Council and the National Religious Broadcasters, this week urged the justices not to force acceptance of same-sex marriage on all states and citizens. The activists said their religious beliefs do not allow them to support gay marriage in any way. They pledged new efforts to help business owners such as bakers and florists who are facing large fines for refusing to provide their services for same-sex weddings.
