The US Supreme Court has ordered a federal appeals court to reconsider its ruling against the University of Notre Dame in a case about birth control. Last year, the lower court said Notre Dame must comply with a requirement under the Affordable Care Act to provide contraceptive coverage for its employees. The Supreme Court said that decision should be reexamined in light of its ruling last year in a case involving Hobby Lobby. There the justices allowed closely held for-profit corporations to receive religious exemptions from the contraception mandate. Many faith-based groups are seeking the same right.
