Religious Groups Mourn and Pray for Victims of Charleston Church Shooting

Faith groups across the spectrum are expressing grief and outrage in the wake of the deadly shooting at a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina. Nine were killed at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, including the pastor, South Carolina state senator Clementa Pinckney. Police arrested a 21-year-old white man who reportedly said he wanted to start a race war. President Obama expressed his sadness, and many religious leaders are renewing their call for the nation to confront ongoing issues of racism and gun violence.
