Fifty Protestant and Catholic leaders sent a letter to members of Congress urging them to support the Iran nuclear deal. Among them were the head of the National Council of Churches and leaders from several denominations. The signers said they were called to be “peacemakers” and that the deal would help avert a war in the Middle East. On Friday (August 28), President Obama held a webcast meeting with North American Jewish leaders to seek their support for the agreement.
