Hundreds Killed in Deadly Hajj Stampede near Mecca

This year’s annual hajj, or pilgrimage, to Mecca ended in tragedy this week. More than 700 people were killed in a stampede during the final hajj rituals. More than 800 others were injured. This was the deadliest such incident in more than two decades. More than 2 million Muslims had gathered to participate in this year’s hajj.
