Young Catholics from across the country gathered in Washington as part of the eighteenth Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice.

Hundreds of high school and university students from Jesuit institutions listened to a series of speakers who focused on two key social justice issues: climate change and immigration reform. A social justice rally on Capitol Hill on Monday (November 9) capped off the weekend’s activity. As they prepared to lobby members of Congress, young adults heard from faith leaders:

Sister Simone Campbell, executive director of the Catholic social justice organization NETWORK: “We know that faith-rooted justice is what builds bridges. Faith-rooted justice takes care of all of our earth, takes care of our people, takes care of our politics. So you all today, use this moment to build bridges, transform our nation and give people hope, because you are the hope for our future. You are how change will happen.”
