Thousands watched as images of the natural world from famous photographers were projected onto the walls of St. Peter’s Basilica this week. The event was titled “Let There Be Light.” It was inspired by the pope’s encyclical on the environment and the Paris climate talks. But not all were pleased with the three-hour show. Some Catholics said they were unhappy with the Vatican’s continued emphasis on climate change. Others complained the display was too secular.
