On Our Calendar

Calendar-1919-600While some Christian traditions celebrated the Nativity this past week, on Wednesday (January 6) and this Sunday (January 10) many other traditions celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany, which marks the manifestation or revelation of Jesus. For Western churches, the holiday tends to focus on the visit of the Magi or Wise Men to the baby Jesus. But in Eastern Orthodox churches Epiphany or Theophany, as it is also called, focuses on Jesus’ baptism.
