LDS Church Condemns Oregon Anti-Government Occupation

LDS-1919-600Mormon leaders condemned the armed occupation of a remote federal wildlife refuge in Oregon. Occupiers said they took over the land in protest of the federal government and its land policies and administration. Calling themselves Citizens for Constitutional Freedom, leaders of the group have cited the Book of Mormon in the conflict, suggesting God blessed their actions. Mormon leaders said their scripture cannot be used to justify the armed occupation.
