Supreme Court to Rule on Obama Immigration Reform Program

Supreme-Court-Immigration-600The Supreme Court announced this week that it will hear a legal challenge to President Obama’s attempt at immigration reform. In 2014, Obama introduced a program intended to allow as many as five million illegal immigrants—either parents of US citizens or those who have permanent resident status—to remain in the country. Religious groups who have condemned the deportations of families welcomed the announcement by the Court and said they were praying for justice. The case was brought by a coalition of 26 states that oppose the president’s initiative. It is expected be argued in April and decided by the end of June.
