Hundreds of Migrants Feared Drowned in Mediterranean Sea as Boat Capsizes

07-600The global refugee crisis took yet another tragic turn this week. United Nations officials say as many as 500 migrants trying to reach Europe may have drowned in the Mediterranean Sea. Survivors said their ship sank after human traffickers tried to cram more people onto an already-overcrowded boat. It was the worst sea incident in more than a year.
