Tim LaHaye, 1926-2016

01-600Evangelical minster Tim LaHaye, co-author of the best-selling “Left Behind” series describing the apocalypse, died on Monday. He was 90 years old. The “Left Behind” series was published between 1995 and 2007 in 16 volumes and sold more than 65 million copies. LaHaye based the series on the Books of Isaiah, Ezekiel and Revelation. In the late 1970s, LaHaye promoted Pat Robertson’s Christian Coalition and the Rev. Jerry Falwell’s Moral Majority. LaHaye was also a harsh critic of Catholicism, calling it “pseudo-Christian.”
