Iraqi Christians Celebrate Mass Once More in Recaptured Church near Mosul

06-600Iraqi Christians celebrated the first mass in two years in Qaraqosh last week. The ancient Christian town in northern Iraq fell to ISIS in 2014 but was liberated as part of an ongoing effort to retake Mosul. The Syrian Catholic Archbishop of Mosul led the mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Meanwhile, humanitarian agencies are attempting to help the thousands displaced by the operation to retake Mosul.
