Leaders in Catholic Higher Education Defend Undocumented Students

03-600More than 70 presidents of Catholic colleges and universities signed a statement supporting students who are part of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA. The program was established through executive order by President Obama. It protects young immigrants from deportation and allows them to have work permits. President-elect Donald Trump has promised to repeal the order. More than 720,000 young people came forward to be part of DACA. They fear they will now be deported.
