Photo Gallery: Religious Observance at Adat Shalom

WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Saturday, Aug. 22, the Senior Journalists Seminar observed Sabbath services at Adat Shalom, a Reconstructionist Jewish synagogue in Bethesda, Md. We were not allowed to film or take photos during the service, but afterward, Rabbi Fred Scherlinder Dobb explained the Reconstructionist movement and showed us an historic Torah scroll which had been confiscated by the Nazis in Europe in the 1940s.
