A McDonald’s at the Vatican?

06-600Several senior cardinals in Rome are upset about plans to open a new McDonald’s restaurant around the corner from the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica. The fast-food outlet, or McVatican as some have called it, would be built in a church-owned building where several cardinals live. One cardinal called the proposal a “perverse decision.” The McDonald’s would bring $33,000 a month in rental income to the Vatican.
