ADL Leader Criticizes Uncivil Campaign Rhetoric

03-600Leaders of the Anti-Defamation League are expressing concern about what they describe as a “troubling” degree of stereotyping and prejudice in campaign rhetoric this election season. The ADL was founded in 1913 to fight anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry. At the ADL Leadership Summit in Washington this week, officials criticized uncivil rhetoric in both parties. Jonathan Greenblatt is the group’s new CEO.

JONATHAN GREENBLATT (CEO, Anti-Defamation League): “It’s become okay to slander people again based on what they believe or where they’re from or who they love. We don’t think that’s okay.”
