Airstrikes Target Syrian Hospitals, Killing and Wounding Dozens

06-600More than 20 people were killed and dozens injured when two hospitals were hit in northern Syria this week. Witnesses said the airstrikes appeared to be conducted by Syrian government forces or their Russian allies. Hospitals have been a regular target throughout Syria’s five-year civil war. International human rights groups say the attacks appear to be a way for government forces to punish civilians in rebel-held areas. The Syrian government says its attacks are aimed at terrorists.
