Dozens of civilians in Yemen have been killed or injured this week due to increased fighting between a coalition led by Saudi Arabia and Houthi militias, members of a Shiite sect who have been fighting the government since 2004. At least 15 people were killed on Monday (August 15) after warplanes bombed a hospital supported by Doctors Without Borders. The wounded included three foreign doctors. Three other staff members had limbs amputated. On Tuesday, seventeen civilians were killed when an airstrike hit a residential area. Saudi officials insist they have struck only at military targets and accuse Houthis of using civilian facilities to carry out attacks against the government.
