Appeals Court Says New York City Can Block Religious Services in Public Schools

nyc-HEAD-sm A federal appeals court this week ruled that New York City can ban religious groups from holding worship services in public schools outside of school hours. The decision overturns a 2012 ruling that had allowed churches to worship in public schools. It is unknown if New York City will implement the ban, but Mayor Bill de Blasio has said he believes churches should be able to worship in school buildings.
