In the US, three Muslim men from Brooklyn were arrested this week and charged with providing material support to ISIS. The arrests highlight concerns about the extent to which ISIS is recruiting Muslims in the West to join their cause. Studies show that only a tiny percentage of American Muslims are committing terrorist acts or leaving to fight with ISIS. Still, in the face of the challenge, many US Muslim groups are launching initiatives to prevent violent extremism from taking hold in their communities.
