Cardinal Edward Egan, 1932-2015

Cardinal Edward Egan, the former Roman Catholic Archbishop of New York, died of cardiac arrest this week at the age of 82. Egan led the archdiocese for nine tumultuous years that included the 9/11 attacks, the clergy sex abuse scandal and growing financial difficulties. He retired in 2009.
